JESSIE BELL

BA, TTC, ATCL

Jessie has been teaching Brainfit since 2014 and continues to be inspired by the real difference it makes. One of her most memorable moments came from a student in her eighties who had been losing confidence in her memory. By the end of the course, she felt empowered, supported, and hopeful again.

“That moment really reinforced why I believe so strongly in Brainfit,” Jessie says.

Teaching has been a lifelong passion for Jessie. After growing up in Helensville, she trained in Auckland and spent five decades teaching in secondary schools across the North Island, including Gisborne, Whangarei, and Auckland. While raising her family, she completed a BA in Education from Massey University and later became Head of Arts at Kamo High School.

Jessie is also a registered speech teacher with ATCL qualifications in speech, drama, and musical theatre. Since retiring from full-time teaching, she has run private classes and remained active in music and theatre.

Now living in Cambridge, she enjoys walking, cycling, and kayaking with her husband Mike—and is excited to bring Brainfit To Drive to the Waipa & surrounding community.

WHAT OUR STUDENTS SAY

“I have been fairly sure I was keeping up with “aging” and memory retention but because I attended Brainfit, I feel encouraged, given tools to improve my memory and Jessie delivers with humour and skills.”

Colleen

“I have recently finished a course called Brainfit For Life with Jessie. It is the best thing I have done to improve my mind for ages and will continue to practice the mental and physical exercises I learnt. I also enjoyed meeting a new group of people, we intend to continue meeting once a month for a chat over coffee. Thank you Jessie you were great.”

Robyn Wilson

“I enjoyed this course as I mixed with others, learnt what I can and can’t do well and know what I need to practice more.  Thank you for your energy in delivering the course, Jessie.  I find the book invaluable.”

Carol

“The course has been so enjoyable and it’s with real enthusiasm that I leave each week to test my knowledge.  Absolutely inspiring.  It’s like eating something delicious and wanting more.”

Mary, Northland, NZ

“I liked the way Jessie presented the course.  It was very low key and non-threatening and encouraging.  Her pace was good, we got through the material well and had a few laughs. It is good to prepare to deal with decreasing memory.”
